Robert Fox
Wall Walking - The distance between the objects of Fox’s observations and his viewing position are collapsed to the point of abstraction. It is as if he is able to adjust the mind’s telescope to a higher magnification whereby the ability recognize the patterns of the compose the foliage, snow, ice, sky and sources of light perceived by Fox are difficult to see for what they are. The ensuing tension he creates turns these ocular experiences into narratives on perception.
Fox is a self-taught artist who resides year round in Fairbanks, Alaska. Where he continues to use his keen observers of the lifestyles and coping mechanisms of both seasoned survivor and newly arrived inhabitant as the subject of his works.
