Camille Feinberg - A Whereness
May 28, 2013
The Phatory is pleased to present A Whereness an exhibtion of works by Camille Feinberg. The exhibit opens June 15th and closes July 27th, 2013. An artist’s reception will be held on Friday, June 14th, from 6 - 8:00 p.m.
For her third exhibit at The Phatory, Camille Feinberg recreates the conceptual tension brought about when the micro and macro collide. Feinberg’s travels across the Grand Canyon and other majestic places are vividly recalled in this series of large-scale drawings on canvas. Gazing at these vistas the eye searches for safe places to land while each perch quickly turn into visual roller-coaster rides soon after touchdown. Amid the cascade of shifting perspectives, the imagination hovers in transitory states of being here, there and everywhere.
Camille Feinberg was born and currently lives in Los Angeles but also resided for twenty years in New York City. She studied painting at the California Institute for the Arts and Rutgers University. Aside from her shows at The Phatory, she has exhibited both in Los Angeles and New York. While in New York in addition to painting she was active in the advant-garde theater world, performing with Richard Foreman, Stuart Sherman, and other directors/playwrights.
